‘WiKyPlanet’ is the wiki-platform that has been developed for KYOTO.The information on the wiki is accessible for all (potential) users (professionals from the environmental domain). For the first phase a number of professionals are invited to start using the platform by adding information and start discussions or a forum with associates. They will receive a “login”, that enables them to use the wiki tools and to add and delete information. In the second phase Wikyplanet will be multilingual and used by more and more professionals. Eventually, Wikyplanet will become the basis for integrating and launching the KYOTO system in a wider user community when it becomes available, thereby achieving early dissemination and validation.

The results of KYOTO are already used in a number of follow-up projects:

• VU University Amsterdam: The DutchSemCor project (funded by NWO) will use the word-sense-disambiguation technology of KYOTO for building a semantically tagged corpus of Dutch. 
• VU University Amsterdam: The Semantics of History project (funded by the VU University Amsterdam through the Camera institute) uses KYOTO to develop the terminology and ontology for an historical archive. KYOTO is also participating in a new FP7 project proposal for the development of a platform for clinical cancer treatment in the medical domain.
• Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea in San Sebastian received funding for the project KNOW2: Language understanding technologies for multilingual domain-oriented information access. The project will start early 2010. This project will continue the open lines of predecessor project KNOW by including the outcomes of KYOTO.
• VU University Amsterdam and Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea in San Sebastian participate in proposal Computer-Aided Collaborative Clinical Care submitted for the 5th call FP7-ICT-2009-5. In this project, the KYOTO architecture is used for mining and modeling knowledge in the medical domain.
• VU University Amsterdam submitted a proposal to the tender of the DutchTaalUnie to develop an open source terminology extractor. This proposal includes the Tybot system from KYOTO.
